Social media has changed the way we see the world. In fact, it’s become something many of us rely on. But as important as these new ways of communicating are, there has always been a far more effective way to understand the issues we read & see.
As believers, we trust God for understanding how to chart an effective course to impact the world. We trust that the Church is God’s plan to lead men and women to find purpose in their lives. We believe His Church is victorious and will remain victorious. Even if we read that churches in America are struggling, we don’t view God’s Church through the same lenses we view businesses and the like. Instead, we remember Jesus said, “I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” and that God is still working – one person at a time.
Technology can’t replace the living Word of God. This, rather than statistics, data, or trends, needs to be the first news we reach for. It provides the basis for all we preach, teach, and it guides how we live.
“And the Lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely; for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light,” serves not only as a reminder that we need to pray & not lose faith in God’s plan for humanity, but that we must use the power of the Word to bring good news of Hope to a world that is quickly losing it.
The Church has always guided us to find hope through Him. His Word assures us that the world is spinning on according to what He has declared. And in that we are at peace. His Holy Spirit will use us to reach the lost, encourage the hopeless, and serve as a reminder of God’s promises for this life and for eternity.
