Dr. G.J. (JoJo) Thomas

Director of Missions

Dr. G.J. (Jojo) Thomas came to serve as Associational Missionary in May, 2005. Prior to his ministry with CBA he served 23 years as founding pastor of Annistown Road Baptist Church in Snellville, GA. That experience solidified a love for church growth, for church planting, and for pastors. He and his wife Debbie are blessed with 3 wonderful sons, and (more recently) seven BEAUTIFUL grandchildren! Dr. Thomas is a graduate of UGA (Go Dawgs!), SWBTS (MDiv. ’82) and NOBTS (DMin. ’94).

Jackie Powers

Good Samaritan Executive Director

Jackie Powers serves as executive director of the Good Samaritan Ministries. Good Samaritan's main focus is food ministry. Jackie came to CBA in January, 2021. Prior to that, she worked as an Executive Assistant at a local church and served other areas in our local community. She has been involved with Good Samaritan as a volunteer, chair of the vision team and most recently a board of trustee's member. Jackie and her husband, David have been married for over 38 years and active members at Corinth Baptist Church. They have three married children and seven grandchildren. She is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University in Business Administration.

Rev. Ruben D. Perea

Ethnic Church Starter/Strategist

Rev. Ruben D. Perea serves as part-time Ethnic Church Starter/Strategist. He also pastors Latin American Baptist Community Church. Ruben is originally from Cali, Colombia. He moved to the US in 1985, and gave his life to Christ after moving to Georgia in 1986. He and his wife Patricia have one daughter.

Connie Johnson

Secretary & CCM Assistant

Connie Johnson began serving as CBA’s secretary and CCM Assistant in Feb. 2008. She also serves with the WMU and Women’s Ministry of both the CBA and the Georgia Baptist Mission Board as Women's Adult Equipper from 2013-2017. Connie and her husband, Randy, are members of FBC Lula, where he serves as pastor. They are blessed with 3 beautiful daughters and 8 wonderful grandchildren.

Joan Walker

Office Manager & Financial Secretary

Joan Walker began her work as CBA Office Manager and Financial Secretary in August 2004. Joan also works with various ministries and missions groups. She is active in her church (FBC Lula), serves weekly at the Good Samaritan Food/Furniture ministry. Joan has 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

Frank Greenway

Project Coordinator/Sr. Adult Ministry

Frank Greenway began serving in October 2010 as CBA’s Project Coordinator and Senior Adult Leader volunteer. He is actively involved at Blackshear Place Baptist Church where he has served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director, and Facilities Director. He is currently self-employed , semi-retired, and volunteering his time at CBA. Frank is a graduate of University of Georgia. He and his wife JoAnn have two grown children and one grandson and one granddaughter.

Hagen Ferguson

Hagen Ferguson

Good Samaritan Operations Manager

Hagen Ferguson joined the Good Samaritan Team in September 2019. Before Good Samaritan, Hagen worked as a restaurant manager at Captain D’s and, most recently, operations manager at Wiley’s Transport. While serving as the operations manager for the Good Samaritan, Hagen is also the Minister of Students and Media at West Hall Baptist Church. The organization and management experience, along with working with the public, prepared him for this ministry. Hagen has a BBA from the University of North Georgia and is fluent in Spanish.
