Good Samaritan Ministries of Northeast Georgia, LLC exists to assist and minister to people and families who are in need, primarily through the distribution of food. We also assist with furniture (when available), job placement training, and health screening. Executive Director Jackie Powers does a great job managing the ministry and working with Hagen Ferguson, Operations Manager and a large team of volunteers that make it happen week by week.
Operations of the Good Samaritan Food Bank are within in its own 10,000 square foot warehouse space located on the property of the Chattahoochee Baptist Association.
All clients register for food by completing an application form, and are then interviewed by a counselor to assess their actual life needs. Counselors share Christ and pray with every client, if receptive. Individuals who qualify for our food ministry receive a large “box of food,” which includes non-perishables, bread, desserts, fresh vegetables, meats, dairy products, fruits and drinks.
One “box of food” is given every 30 days per client unless there’s an emergency within the family. All clients are encouraged to visit the food bank during the 30 day period as often as needed to receive breads, sweets, fruits and vegetables which are freely given.
Furniture distribution depends solely on donations of furniture made to us, and is also freely given on a first come first serve basis.
